The end of October 2020 sees house music virtuoso producer and DJ, Gino Brown, release a nine track EP titled Lalela.
Lalela is a Zulu verb which means ‘listen’,
“Listen. As I bare my soul. Pay attention and hear my thoughts, my cries and my prayers through sound. Walk with me, as I share my pain, my truth and my experiences, the only way I know how, through creativity, through music. Lend me your ears, as I present to you my work of heart” says Gino Brown.
Brown is no stranger to the music game as he is the man responsible for the South African Music Award winning hit track Shay’inumber and many other party starter tracks.
This time around he decided to drop a full body of work after a challenging year as he battled the Covid19 virus a couple of months ago.
“It was a very scary time in my life when the doctor diagnosed me with the Corona virus, I thank God for my family and friends for keeping me in their prayers as I combated for my health and came out stronger than ever” he adds excitedly.
The EP was also inspired by the unfortunate tragic loss of his younger brother who passed away due to a car accident.
The Lalela EP features amazing artists such as Bontle Smith, Boohle, Ruvimbo as well as El-Maj.
The legends Harrison Crump as well as Chymamusique helped to master the tunes as Brown mixed the songs himself.
