A Proud Moment for Pretoria and Amapiano
Pretoria came alive at the Scorpion Kings event, where Dinho — affectionately known as Presidente ya Flaka — reflected on the significance of the night.
“It’s a proud moment, especially if you are a piano artist,”
he shared, praising Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa for pushing the Amapiano movement to new heights.
The Birth of “Presidente ya Flaka”
Born in Mamelodi, Dinho explained how the name came to life.
“Mamelodi, we call it Flaka. When I do events, people follow me kasi to kasi. That’s when the name President came. I decided to call myself Presidente ya Flaka,”
he said. The title reflects his influence as a promoter and cultural leader who consistently unites crowds across townships.
On the Shoulders of Pioneers
Speaking on the Scorpion Kings’ achievements, Dinho acknowledged the risks, sacrifices, and dedication required to reach such milestones.
“It takes courage, it takes risk. Families make sacrifices. But this is a good initiative — it grows Amapiano and paves the way for upcoming artists,”
he noted.
Dinho Café Lifestyle: A New Chapter
Beyond the decks, Dinho is expanding his brand with the launch of Dino Café Lifestyle, a new establishment opening soon at Tshwane Regional Mall.
“People from kasi have been asking me for a spot, and now their prayers have been answered,”
he said. Dino Café has long been his signature events brand, and this move cements it as a lifestyle hub for music and culture.
The Debut Album on the Way
For the first time, Dinho is preparing to release a full-length album, working with some of the biggest names in Amapiano.
“I’ve worked with Kabza, Tumza, and Abidoza. It’s about unity. I always say: divided by status, united by music,”
he explained. While the album title is still under wraps, the project promises to showcase his evolution as an artist and collaborator.
