Multi-talented singer and stage performer Mbali Ngidi marked Valentine’s Day with a heartfelt community gesture, visiting Osindisweni Hospital in the Ndwendwe District. The Emadweleni singer presented healthcare workers with appreciation gifts in recognition of their dedication, sacrifice, and service to the community.

Inspired by Her Late Mother’s Nursing Career
The initiative carries deep personal significance for the singer. Mbali is the daughter of the late nurse Delisile Ngidi, who served at the hospital for 32 years before her passing in 2023. It is also the hospital where Mbali herself was born.
“I grew up watching my mother dedicate her life to caring for others. Nurses and healthcare workers are the backbone of our communities, and this visit is my way of saying thank you. Valentine’s Day is about love, and to me, love means service, compassion, and sacrifice,”
she said.

“They say charity begins at home. As I watch my career blossom, I want to thank the people who raised me and my community. My mother was buried on 12 February 2023, and doing this on February 13 means a lot to me,”
