Award-winning South African singer, songwriter and performer Moonchild Sanelly is preparing to release The Blueprint, an Afro-house album arriving through Zakes Bantwini’s Mayonie Productions on 4 November 2026.
The project introduces a fresh musical direction for the artist, bringing her distinctive vocals and experimental approach into the rhythmic, electronic world of Afro-house. Its rollout begins with the first single on 7 October, followed by a second release on 21 October.
A New Connection to the African Dancefloor
On The Blueprint, Moonchild Sanelly explores a sound closely connected to African dancefloor culture, pairing Afro-house rhythms with the vocal character and bold expression that have defined her work.
The project opens another avenue for an artist whose music has consistently crossed genre boundaries. Her unconventional approach remains central as she explores a different setting for her voice and songwriting.
Building on ‘Future Ghetto Funk’
Moonchild Sanelly’s signature “Future Ghetto Funk” sound draws on electronic music, gqom, amapiano, alternative pop and African club influences. That broad musical foundation provides context for her latest move into Afro-house.
Throughout her career, she has used music to explore self-expression, cultural identity and creative freedom. The Blueprint continues that experimentation, expanding her sound while retaining the individuality audiences associate with her work.
Her distinctive visual identity and high-energy performances have also helped carry her music from South African stages to international audiences. The upcoming album adds a new dimension to that artistic journey.
Two Singles Ahead of the November Release
Listeners will get their first introduction to The Blueprint when its lead single arrives on 7 October 2026. A second single follows on 21 October, ahead of the full album’s release on 4 November.
