On 23 May 2023 we attended the launch of H.O.P.E. which is a collaboration between Tshepo Jeans and Shimza.
Shimza stands as one of South Africa’s most prolific contemporary stars. He has been a key breakout star on the global electronic music circuit in recent years with his self-styled Afro-Tech sound, and is now globally recognised as one of South Africa’s most celebrated music exports.
Chartering releases via some of the scene’s most authoritative labels, such as Luciano’s Cadenza and Hot Since 82’s Knee Deep In Sound, his uniquely rhythmic strain of underground music has set him on a guaranteed path to success.
On this interview he opens up about the Tshepo jeans collaboration, his diverse portfolio as a businessman which includes a logistics business as well as his overall music career.
