RubyGold has unveiled two captivating new songs, “Filha da Lolita” and “Burning Fire,” showcasing her artistry and ability to connect deeply with audiences through evocative storytelling and powerful messages of resilience. Each track reflects a unique journey of self-discovery, strength, and empowerment.

“Filha da Lolita” – A Tribute to Heritage and Healing
“Filha da Lolita,” translated as “Lolita’s Child” in Portuguese, is a poignant tribute to RubyGold’s late mother, Aurora Lolita Mendoza, and grandmother. Drawing from personal tragedy, the song reflects her journey of healing following her mother’s passing due to domestic violence when RubyGold was just six years old.
The track is both a deeply personal anthem and a universal message of solidarity with victims of gender-based violence (GBV). “This song is my way of reclaiming my roots and affirming that my mother’s legacy lives on within me, grounding me as I navigate life’s challenges,” RubyGold shares.
Through this emotional homage, RubyGold celebrates the strength passed down through generations while reminding listeners of the unbreakable bond between mother and child.

“Burning Fire” – An Anthem of Resilience and Rebirth
With “Burning Fire,” RubyGold channels a fierce, phoenix-like energy, symbolizing determination and transformation. The electrifying track invites listeners to embrace challenges as opportunities for growth.
“This song celebrates the fire within us all. It’s about embracing challenges as opportunities to become the best version of ourselves. ‘Burning Fire’ is a reminder that we each have the power to ignite our potential,” says RubyGold.
The song’s empowering lyrics and pulsating beats capture the essence of rising above adversity, urging listeners to find strength in their struggles and emerge stronger.
Anticipation for the EP Mix Masala
Both tracks set the stage for RubyGold’s upcoming EP, Mix Masala, slated for release in 2025. Drawing from her rich cultural heritage, the amapiano-inspired project merges influences from her father’s Griqua lineage and her mother’s Mozambican Portuguese roots.
“Mix Masala represents my journey of self-discovery and cultural fusion. It’s a celebration of my mixed heritage and an exploration of the diversity that shapes me as an artist,”
RubyGold explains.
The EP promises to be a vibrant mix of sounds and genres, honoring her upbringing and showcasing her versatility. One of its standout moments will be “Maria,” a dedication to her maternal grandmother, Maria de Ludes Teixeria Fong.
