Amapiano is not only dominating global charts but also reshaping international dance floors—thanks in large part to South Africa’s own Hope Ramafalo, better known as King Maestro.
The multi-talented dancer and choreographer is set to headline the BeAfrika Amps international afro dance camp in Montpellier, France, from July 14–20. She’ll be joined by fellow South African star Bontle Modiselle and an array of top-tier dancers from around the world.
European Dance Tour to Follow Montpellier Showcase
Fresh off the French dance camp, King Maestro will embark on a high-energy European tour, bringing her amapiano flair to major cultural hubs including Amsterdam, Barcelona, and Paris.
These performances promise to spotlight not only her electrifying dance skills but also South Africa’s growing influence on global pop and street dance culture.
United States Tour Set for August
In August, King Maestro takes her talents across the Atlantic with a U.S. tour. She’s scheduled to perform in Seattle on August 22, followed by an appearance at MTV Nickelodeon Studios in Los Angeles on August 24, and another performance in LA on August 28. Her tour marks a major milestone in the international recognition of amapiano dance as a global movement.
“Dance Saved My Life”: A Story of Purpose and Passion
Reflecting on her journey, Ramafalo says,
“I didn’t think that dance would put me in the position that I am today… A dance career was never enough encouraged, but by God’s grace, I found my passion and purpose through dance.”
She credits the artform with not only giving her a platform but also helping her navigate life’s toughest challenges.
From Social Media Star to Multi-Platinum Award-Winning Choreographer
Beyond dance tours, Hope Ramafalo’s reach extends into music and viral social media content. With multiple platinum plaques to her name and a Social Media Personality of the Year win at the 16th Feather Awards, King Maestro has proven her crossover appeal. Her signature dance challenges—like Hamba Ha, uMkhukhu (MKK), and Zula ka Strata—have lit up TikTok, connecting with millions worldwide.
Amapiano Hitmaker With Viral Impact
Her song Areyeng has trended for weeks on TikTok, reinforcing her dual strength as a dancer and recording artist.
“When I released music, I didn’t know how it would go, but all I knew was to at least try,”
she says.
“My song trended… just like my dance, and I hope to merge the two on a bigger scale one day.”
