SUPTA’s music journey began at Takalani FM in Aliwal North while he was still in high school. From there, he honed his craft at Motheo FM and Kovsie FM in Bloemfontein before making his mark at Johannesburg’s YFM, where he now hosts his own show and contributes to the popular YTKO DJ mix line-up.
National Recognition Through “Gugulethu”
SUPTA rose to national prominence in 2019 for his work on Prince Kaybee’s Gugulethu, which garnered over 13 million views on YouTube, won Best Collaboration at the Sound City Music Awards, and received a Song of the Year nomination at the 2020 Mzansi Music Awards.
Carving Out an Afrotech Legacy
