A new chapter: Da Capo lands cover feature on Apple Music’s ‘Isgubhu DJ Mix’
In a landmark moment for South African electronic music, Afro-tech trailblazer Da Capo has been featured as the main cover artist for Apple Music’s newly launched DJ platform, ‘Isgubhu DJ Mix’. Speaking to TheJournalistDJ.com, Da Capo described the moment as an honor, saying,

“It’s a privilege for me to work with Apple and to be involved with Isgubhu. It shows the hard work I’ve put into this art form over the years.”

From ‘Indigo Child’ to its evolution: the release of Indigo Child II
Da Capo’s musical journey continues with the release of his highly anticipated album ‘Indigo Child II’, a follow-up to his genre-defining debut. While the first Indigo Child marked his shift from a hardcore house producer to a more melodic, emotionally rich sound, the second installment reflects his evolution and versatility.

“I don’t believe in staying in one lane,”

he says.

“The sound had to change because the times have changed.”

‘My Confession’ with Elaine: a song that almost didn’t make it
One of the standout tracks on Indigo Child II is ‘My Confession’, a sultry collaboration with R&B star Elaine. But the song’s success is as much a story of perseverance as it is of talent.

“At some point, I almost gave up on the song,”

Da Capo reveals.

“I made 4 or 5 versions of it before we got it right. But now it’s one of the songs making waves.”

Why Kenya feels like home
Asked about his favorite place to perform, Da Capo beams with admiration for Kenya.

“The energy, the loyalty, the love — it’s just different in Nairobi,”

he says.

“Despite everything they may be going through, the crowds show up in numbers. Kenya will always have a special place in my heart.”

Afrotech’s place in South Africa: time to rebuild the culture
Despite Afrotech’s global growth, Da Capo admits it remains a niche genre in its homeland. He attributes this to a period where the genre lost its uniqueness.

“We started making music to impress a specific individual,”

he explains.

“But we’re the pioneers. It’s up to us to bring the culture back.”

A shout out to the supporters
In closing, Da Capo sends heartfelt thanks to his fans — the #Decapaholics — and all those who’ve supported his journey.

“Shout out to everyone who’s been behind the movement. Big respect to you all.”

Watch this space. The beat goes on, and Da Capo is still composing history.
