A Fan First, Artist Always
At a recent event covered by TheJournalistDJ.com, Nia Pearl wasn’t just the performer everyone came to see—she was also one of the loudest fans in the crowd.
“Every time someone comes out on stage, I’m screaming,”
she laughed.
“I’m worried about my voice, but as long as I’m happy, my friends are happy, and everyone else on stage is doing a great job, then I’m good.”
Inspired by the 2000s
The singer, known off-stage as Peleka Lwana, made waves with her bold outfit choice. Drawing inspiration from the early 2000s, she paid homage to the Cassie era while bringing back boxing boots in a sporty yet stylish way.
“I wanted to look cute but still be comfortable,”
she said.
“Sporty with a hint of sexy—that was the vibe.”
New Music on the Way
Fans eager for new music from the Nia Lo hitmaker will be happy to know that something is brewing. Although she had hoped to release her next project earlier, delays have pushed back the timeline. Still, the work is nearly complete.
“I’m probably about 70% done,”
she revealed.
“This time, I’m exploring. I love Amapiano and my piano followers, but I want to broaden my horizons, be creative, and take them on a journey with me.”
Unexpected Collaborations
When it comes to features, Nia Pearl is keeping her cards close to her chest but promises a mix of familiar names and fresh faces.
“I want to have people you’d expect, but also give you artists you’ve never heard of—voices that bring something different,”
she explained.
Growth Through Live Performances
The singer is also doubling down on her love for live performance with a band. Although most of her shows so far have been private, she views them as valuable training grounds.
“It allows me to sing properly, explore, and practice more,”
she said.
“When the bigger platforms come, I’ll be more established and ready to show what that side of me is about.”
A Message to Fans
Before signing off, Nia Pearl left fans with a heartfelt message:
“Life is long. Be good, be kind. Follow your passions. Don’t let anyone tell you who you are. Always follow your gut—anything is possible.”
