Hitmaker Confirms Pedestrian Died Following Collision En Route to Limpopo Performance
South African producer and DJ Mvzzle has publicly confirmed that he and his team were involved in a fatal road accident that claimed the life of a pedestrian while travelling to a scheduled performance in Limpopo.
The “Umlilo” hitmaker shared an emotional media statement on Monday, revealing that the tragic incident occurred on Friday night while the team was travelling to Lephalale for a booked performance.
The news comes just months after another high-profile tragedy involving artists from South Africa’s rapidly growing Lekompo music scene, placing renewed focus on the demanding travel schedules many performers endure.
Pedestrian Dies At The Scene
According to Mvzzle’s statement, the accident happened while the team was driving through Shongoane 2 when a pedestrian crossed the road.
The team said they immediately stopped after the collision and contacted emergency services. Members of the South African Police Service arrived first, followed by paramedics, who confirmed that the pedestrian had died at the scene.
“It is with deep sadness and a heavy heart that we address the tragic incident that occurred on Friday night,” the statement reads.
Mvzzle Meets Victim’s Family
Rather than waiting for legal proceedings alone, Mvzzle’s team says it proactively reached out to the deceased’s family the following day to request a meeting.
According to the statement, the family agreed, and both parties met on Sunday.
The producer described the meeting as one filled with “dignity, grace, and understanding,” while acknowledging that the accident has left everyone deeply affected.

Mvzzle says his team has accepted responsibility for ensuring the victim receives a dignified burial and has assigned members to remain with the family throughout the week to assist with funeral arrangements and any outstanding needs.
