Que DJ’s Team Announces Split With Dash Amid Financial Dispute

South African Gqom artist Que DJ’s team has announced that Nkateko “Dash” Masinga is no longer associated with the musician, Amagogogo Sounds or Distruction Boyz, amid a dispute involving payment instructions and outstanding financial obligations.

In a notice issued by Amagogogo Sounds, the company raised concerns about allegedly unauthorised banking details used in transactions linked to the entities. Masinga, in a separate statement dated 16 October 2026, rejected allegations of theft and dishonesty, maintaining that he was owed money for his work.

Amagogogo Sounds Announces Immediate Separation

The Amagogogo Sounds notice informed promoters, event organisers, brands, suppliers and business partners that Masinga’s association with the three entities had ended with immediate effect.

According to the notice, he is no longer authorised to represent them, negotiate or confirm bookings, issue invoices, communicate payment instructions or receive payments on their behalf.

The company said it had identified “serious concerns regarding payment instructions and the use of unauthorised banking details” in transactions purportedly conducted on behalf of its entities.

It further stated that these concerns had been referred to the relevant law enforcement authorities and were subject to legal processes. The notice did not identify the authorities involved or provide a case number.

Team Issues Payment Warning

Amagogogo Sounds also stated that it did not recognise or authorise Scout Creative Art Agency to act on behalf of Que DJ, Amagogogo Sounds or Distruction Boyz.

The company identified an account ending in 3803 as unauthorised for payments linked to its bookings, performances or services, and urged partners to verify all invoices and payment instructions directly with its authorised team.

It cautioned against relying on previously circulated banking details without confirmation and said all official business should be conducted through its designated representatives.

Dash Rejects Allegations and Raises Back Pay Claim

In his response, Masinga disputed the accusations and said the financial issues needed to be considered within the broader context of his working relationship with the company.

“I categorically reject the allegations of theft and dishonesty made against me in relation to Amagogogo Sounds, QUE DJ and Distruction Boyz,” he stated.

Masinga said he had served as road manager, label head and bookings agent, carrying out his duties within an established professional relationship.

“There were outstanding financial obligations relating to my work, including back pay that I maintain was owed to me,” he said.

He argued that the arrangements between the parties and the relevant financial records should be examined before conclusions were drawn.

Financial Review Sought

Masinga said a forensic accountant and legal representatives had been engaged to review the accounts, establish the amounts owed to each party and determine outstanding obligations.

He called for the dispute to be addressed through documentation and a transparent reconciliation process.

He also apologised to clients and partners for the concern caused, saying he remained committed to resolving the matter professionally.

“Our priority is to establish the full financial position, resolve outstanding obligations fairly, and bring this matter to a professional conclusion based on evidence,” his statement read.

Dispute Remains Unresolved

The two statements present differing accounts of the financial dispute. Neither includes supporting financial records or a finding by a court or investigating authority establishing wrongdoing.

Amagogogo Sounds has directed booking enquiries to bookings@amagogogosounds.co.za or 063 229 4158, while Masinga says he will allow the financial review and appropriate legal processes to establish the facts.
