South Africa’s beloved Deep House producer and DJ, Chymamusique, has once again opened up about his ongoing battle to recover from the life-threatening car accident that changed his life earlier this year.
In a heartfelt post shared on his social media pages today, the artist wrote:
“Going for my 7th operation today. I’m tired but I’ll keep fighting because I know who my God is, we are gonna see God’s healing soon 🙏🏾🫂 Thanks to those who are supporting me in many ways.”
His words come just a day after he launched a BackaBuddy campaign to help ease the financial and medical burdens brought on by months of intensive surgeries and rehabilitation.
“By popular demand I was asked to open this BackABuddy campaign to reduce a bit of load, do it voluntarily 🫶🏽🙏🏾, a little help goes a long way 🙏🏾,” he posted, sharing the campaign link with followers and fans.

Chymamusique — real name Collen Mmotla — was involved in a devastating car accident in August 2025, an incident that tragically claimed the life of fellow DJ DJ Poizen. The impact left him with severe injuries that required multiple operations, including emergency brain surgery.
In previous updates, Chyma revealed the physical and emotional challenges of recovery, sharing that part of his skull had been removed in surgery and that he was learning to regain strength and mobility. Despite the pain and fatigue, he continues to share messages of faith and perseverance with his followers.
