The South African Music Awards the spokesperson Leslely Mofokeng took some time off his busy schedule to discuss #SAMA27 new developments.
The award ceremony has spruced up a few categories as the call for entries gathers momentum.
The Best Kwaito/Amapiano/Gqom Album has been discontinued and in its place are the newly named categories:
• Best Amapiano Album. The category honours excellence by musicians in the amapiano genre.
• Best Gqom Album. The category honours excellence by musicians in the gqom genre.
• The Best Kwaito Album.
The category has been reinstated after it was bundled together with amapiano and gqom genre as sub genres since 2017.
