SUPTA, who began his career as a radio host and DJ at Takalani FM in his hometown of Aliwal North, Eastern Cape, has established himself as a prominent figure in South Africa’s music and radio industries.
His journey from local community radio to becoming a beloved personality at YFM, where he hosts his own show and is part of the YTKO lineup, has been marked by a series of musical milestones.
The breakthrough came in 2019 with “Gugulethu,” a collaboration with Prince Kaybee that garnered over 13 million views on YouTube, won the Best Collaboration award at the Sound City Music Awards, and earned a nomination for Song of the Year at the 2020 Mzansi Music Awards.
SUPTA continued to solidify his presence in the Afrotech scene in 2022 with successful releases such as “Indoda Emadodeni” with Nkosazana Daughter and “Ntinga Ntanga” featuring Thalitha and Obie, as well as the EP Ntinga Ntanga, which showcased his diverse musical talents.
