South African Amapiano producer and DJ Stixx has released his third studio album, DESTINY, a 20-track project reflecting on his musical upbringing, artistic growth and eventual acceptance of a career he once considered pursuing alternatives to.
Rooted in soulful, melodic Amapiano, the album brings together the KwaThema-born musician’s varied influences while placing personal reflection and relationship-centred storytelling at its heart.
A Calling He Could Not Ignore
For Stixx, born Samuel Seloane, music was part of everyday life long before it became a profession. Raised in a musical family, he began playing drums at just two years old and explored music production in 2015.
“Since I was young, I’ve always had a love for music,” he says. “Coming from a musical family, music has always been at the forefront of my mind. However, I never took it seriously and instead tried to pursue other career paths.”
That search ultimately led him back to music, giving the new album its central theme.
“But in life, you quickly realise what works for you and what doesn’t. For me, music was something I simply couldn’t run away from. This project is a reflection of my growth as an artist and musician. I present to you my third album, DESTINY.”

‘Amablomo’ Explores Love and the Small Gestures That Matter
Among the album’s highlighted tracks is “Amablomo,” featuring Babalwa M and De Rose, which explores the work required to sustain a relationship through misunderstandings and emotional distance.
The song centres on a woman asking to feel loved, valued and reassured. Rather than walking away, she calls for renewed effort from her partner, with flowers becoming a symbol of the small acts of care that can carry considerable emotional weight.
Its story brings together affection and frustration, addressing communication, thoughtfulness and the decision to keep choosing a relationship when it becomes difficult.
From KwaThema to a Growing Amapiano Catalogue
Stixx’s musical background spans deep house, gospel, Afro-soul and R&B. Those influences have informed his approach to Amapiano, alongside his exploration of Kwapi, a fusion of Amapiano and kwaito.
His 2023 debut album, Test of Time, helped establish his catalogue. According to figures supplied with the new release, the project has accumulated more than 6.3 million Spotify streams, with “Dlala Stixx” accounting for over 1.7 million.
Collaborative releases have also played a significant role in his development. These include Jazz Cruise Series Vol. 1 alongside Kelvin Momo and Dust 2 Dust with Nvcho, the latter recording more than 9.5 million Spotify streams, according to the supplied figures.
Building Momentum Through Collaboration
In 2025, Stixx teamed up with Sam Deep and Nvcho for Kings Of Kwapi Vol: 1. The project has surpassed 11 million Spotify streams and received a Best Produced Album nomination at the 2026 Metro FM Music Awards, according to the release information.
His collaborative catalogue also includes “Amalobolo” and “Pholisa,” which reached No. 6 and No. 5 respectively on Spotify South Africa’s daily chart.
More recent releases include “The Dawn” and “Market Place 2.0” featuring The Bless, with the latter drawing on the musical legacy of South African jazz icon Hugh Masekela.
A New Chapter Across 20 Tracks
With DESTINY, Stixx brings these experiences into a project he describes as a reflection of his growth as both an artist and musician. Its personal foundation connects his childhood exposure to music with the creative direction he continues to develop today.
Stixx’s DESTINY is available now on major digital streaming platforms.
