South Africa’s vibrant music scene is buzzing with excitement as vocal powerhouses Boohle, DJ KMAT, and Dee Koala have come together to release their highly anticipated single, “Iskhath’ Sam Manje,” as part of the Jik’iZinto movement.
The track is now available for streaming on all major digital platforms, including here.
“Iskhath’ Sam Manje,” dubbed the Jik’iZinto anthem, serves as a rallying cry for the nation’s youth, aiming to inspire and energize them to take charge of their lives and futures.
The single blends amapiano and 3-step genres, featuring production from renowned names such as Atmos Blaq, Ice Beats Slide, and TheBlackGuy.
Boohle, a Durban-born artist known for her captivating vocals, emphasized the song’s empowering message:
“JiK’iZinto is a reminder that we have the power within us to create change. It’s about empowering ourselves with knowledge, confidence, and support so we can overcome challenges and achieve our goals.”
The Jik’iZinto movement focuses on addressing the socio-economic barriers faced by South African youth, particularly young women, who often struggle with unemployment and limited educational opportunities.
It seeks to equip them with the necessary tools to make informed decisions about their lives, mental health, and economic participation.
KMAT, a rising DJ and producer from Pretoria, expressed her passion for the initiative:
“I believe more young women need help and knowledge on how to navigate the situations they face. This movement is about reopening dialogues on topics that have been considered taboo.”
Cape Town rapper Dee Koala echoed this sentiment, stating,
“The vision behind Jik’iZinto is something I proudly endorse. It encourages youth to pursue their dreams and showcases the importance of self-identity.”
The collaboration process was seamless, with each artist bringing their unique flair to the track. KMAT described the experience as “inspiring,” highlighting the effortless synergy among the talented group. Dee Koala added,
“Our energies blended so well. It was an amazing experience.”
Bradley Williams, the executive producer and A&R director, remarked, “This song is the result of the power of culture and the innovation in music to drive purpose.”
In addition to the release of “Iskhath’ Sam Manje,” Jik’iZinto will roll out several initiatives aimed at empowering young South Africans:
- Web Series: A four-part series featuring diverse young South Africans sharing their journeys and pivotal moments of change.
- TV Series “DiChipi”: A comedy-drama exploring the lives of three unlikely girlfriends who come together to save their community center after a chaotic night threatens its future.
- Web Application: A low-data mobile-friendly platform providing reliable information on mental well-being, career advice, and sexual health.
Through these initiatives, Jik’iZinto aims to support young people in rewriting their futures and overcoming societal limitations.
The collaboration of Boohle, DJ KMAT, and Dee Koala in “Iskhath’ Sam Manje” not only highlights the immense talent within South Africa but also serves as a beacon of hope for the nation’s youth, encouraging them to rise above challenges and chase their dreams.
