Yumbs and Zwayetoven have returned with their second single, “Ngeke”, featuring the mesmerizing vocals of Mawhoo and Mthunzi.

This captivating Zulu love song, part of their Soul Buddies project, is a testament to the universal power of love, delivered with the smooth, emotional tones of Private School Amapiano.

Ngeke is a heartfelt anthem of resilience, where love triumphs over challenges. Mawhoo, celebrated for her stirring vocal performances, passionately declares “Ngeke” (never), while Mthunzi, famed for his hit Imithandazo with Kabza De Small, complements her with the poignant refrain: “Ngeke ngik’lahle / Ngeke ng’kshiye” (I won’t desert you / I won’t leave you). Together, their voices create a powerful narrative of unwavering commitment.

Produced by Yumbs and Zwayetoven, “Ngeke” combines soulful melodies with the rhythmic charm of amapiano, drawing comparisons to the universal appeal of Master KG’s chart-topping hits.

With sing-along hooks and a deeply emotional core, the track invites listeners to celebrate love’s enduring strength.

“This song is a dedication to all those who hold love close to their hearts,”

says Yumbs.

“With ‘Ngeke,’ we wanted to capture the feeling of standing by someone no matter what life throws at you.”

The Journey of Yumbs

Yumbs, born Ayanda Oratile Yumba in Kagiso township, is a musical prodigy whose journey began at just 10 years old, playing drums in his local church. A graduate of the National School of Art, he expanded his repertoire to include bass, electric guitar, and piano, eventually pursuing Audio Technology at the Academy of Sound Engineering.

Breaking into the commercial scene in 2020, Yumbs co-produced Musa Keys’ viral hit “Vula Mlomo” and has since worked with top talents like Kelvin Momo, Bien, Pabi Cooper, and DJ Maphorisa. He served as the executive producer of Pabi Cooper’s debut EP Cooperville and released his own EP The First Offering in 2022, featuring collaborations with Aymos, Babalwa M, and DBN Gogo.

Yumbs’ international presence has also grown exponentially. He collaborated with Will.I.Am and Pharrell Williams at a Dubai music camp and produced a remix for Ciara’s “How We Roll” featuring Chris Brown. Most recently, he crafted the Amapiano remix of Muni Long’s “Made For Me” and participated in Warner Music Africa’s songwriting camp in Ghana.
