Durban’s dynamic Gqom duo, CampMasters, have kicked off 2025 on a high note, celebrating the success of their hit track “Vathela” while teasing exciting new music in the pipeline. In a heartfelt social media post, the duo thanked their fans for their unwavering support, revealing that the song has surpassed 1,161,611 views on YouTube since its release in November 2024.

“We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you. This message is for everyone who helped catapult ‘Vathela’ to these heights. Our hearts are filled with gratitude, joy, and appreciation for the support you have shown our music over the years and especially with ‘Vathela’,”

the duo wrote.

Hailing from Umlazi, Durban, Mzwandile Khuluse and Khumbulani “Wonder Boy” Langa have been a dominant force in the Gqom scene since forming CampMasters in 2010. Known for their high-energy beats and infectious rhythms, they have worked with some of the biggest names in South African music, including DJ Tira, Distruction Boyz, Dladla Mshunqisi, Tipcee, and Dlala Thukzin.

New Music & DJ Tira Collab on the Way

With “Vathela” still making waves, CampMasters are gearing up for an even bigger year. They announced that they are featured on DJ Tira and DJ Maphorisa’s upcoming track “Palesa”, which will appear on DJ Tira’s highly anticipated EP, “Khuphuka”.

“We are looking forward to sharing our new music with you and interacting with you in person at events,”

the duo added, hinting at brand-new bangers and exciting collaborations in the works.

The Gqom Kings Continue to Reign

CampMasters have been instrumental in shaping the Gqom sound, which has taken South Africa and global dance floors by storm. Their previous hits, such as “3AM” (2017), became summer anthems, and their latest smash, “Vathela”, has proven their ability to keep the genre alive and thriving.

With new music and major collaborations on the horizon, 2025 is shaping up to be another massive year for CampMasters and the Gqom movement. Fans can expect more explosive beats, high-energy performances, and electrifying festival appearances from the Umlazi-born hitmakers.
