Apple Music celebrates CowBoii
South African producer and songwriter CowBoii has been officially announced as the latest artist selected for Apple Music’s Africa Rising artist development program — a platform dedicated to spotlighting the continent’s next generation of star talent.

“It caught me by surprise,” says CowBoii

“Being selected as the next Apple Music Africa Rising artist had me by surprise, because the last time I saw someone being selected for that was Tyla,”

CowBoii tells Apple Music.

“It showed me the impact and influence of the work that I put out there each and every day.”

A musical journey that started in choir class
Born Sibusiso Mokone, CowBoii first found his love for music through school choirs and Sunday school performances. Over the years, his unique sound and tireless work ethic have seen him collaborate with top-tier Amapiano stars like Tyler ICU, X Duppy, DJ Maphorisa and MFR Souls.

A new chapter: ‘THIS AINT’ A.I: Days After A.I’
CowBoii has now released a fifteen-track deluxe version of his debut album, titled THIS AINT’ A.I: Days After A.I.

“I wanted people to grasp the whole album, the fifteen tracks that I had initially intended to release,”

he explains.

“I dropped the first ten, and now I feel that it’s fitting for me to release them all together, out of gratitude to my fans.”

A sound all his own
Known for his emotionally rich, bass-driven and piano-laced approach to Amapiano, CowBoii’s minimalist style leaves space for his creative identity to shine through — setting him apart in the genre’s ever-growing landscape.
