A New Chapter for a Multi-Talented Creative
Talented DJ, radio host, MC, and content producer Faith Makubung, widely known as DJ Fae Fae, is stepping into the new radio year with a clear vision to grow her brand and elevate her impact in the entertainment industry. As one of the standout voices on YFM, she continues to position herself as a force within South Africa’s youth and music culture.
All Girls On Deck Continues to Empower Women
DJ Fae Fae returns with another season of her popular show, All Girls On Deck (AGOD), airing every Saturday from 6PM to 8PM. The platform has become a key driver in spotlighting female DJs, amplifying their music, and building a strong community of women within the DJ space.
This year, she is also working towards launching an All Girls On Deck live experience, aimed at bringing the movement from radio to real-life stages through live music events and curated performances.
Investing in Growth Through Education
Beyond the decks and airwaves, DJ Fae Fae is investing in her long-term growth by studying Music Production at Boston Media House. Her goal is to expand her skill set and step into the role of a music producer, learning how to create and produce her own sound as part of her evolving career.
Exploring Entrepreneurship Beyond Music
Driven by creativity and ambition, DJ Fae Fae is also exploring entrepreneurship in the beauty space. She has begun taking wig-making classes with the intention of launching her own hair business. The move reflects her broader vision of building multiple income streams and expressing her creativity beyond music.
A Year Filled with Strategic Moves
Looking ahead, DJ Fae Fae has an exciting calendar lined up, including a birthday celebration event, a Winter tour, special programming for Women’s Month, and travel opportunities throughout the Summer season.
At the core of her plans is a mission to unlock and elevate the potential of female DJs across Africa, using her All Girls On Deck platform to help catapult their careers onto bigger stages.
“We Are Here to Stay” – DJ Fae Fae
Speaking on her journey and ambitions, DJ Fae Fae shared:
“This year already feels exciting, I am ready to take my career, brand and other parts of my life to greater heights. I plan on levelling up my skill set… I want the world to know that yes we look good, but we really also do know how to actually DJ. We are growing a community of female DJs… It’s time to embrace female DJs and recognise our talent altogether because we are here to stay.”
A Journey of Consistency and Evolution
DJ Fae Fae’s career began in 2013 as a radio news anchor at UJFM, where she built a strong foundation in broadcasting. By 2019, she had transitioned into DJing, and in 2020, she made the bold move to leave her corporate job to join YFM full-time.
