South African genre-bending artist Moonchild Sanelly has officially announced that she will perform her critically acclaimed album Full Moon live in Johannesburg for the very first time. After taking the project across international stages and festivals around the world, the musician is finally bringing the experience back to her hometown audience with tickets now officially on sale.
The announcement follows her recent appearance supporting Doja Cat in Pretoria, where the overwhelming reception from South African fans reignited her desire to stage a dedicated Full Moon concert experience in Johannesburg. Determined to make the event accessible, Moonchild has intentionally kept ticket prices affordable for local supporters.

Reflecting on the significance of the moment, Moonchild Sanelly shared an emotional statement about returning to Johannesburg with the album that has elevated her global profile.
“In my writing, I pay homage to the many years that I struggled, because that shaped me. I have toured the world with Full Moon, and bringing this show home to Johannesburg is everything to me. To share my alternative sound with my original Jozi crowd means the absolute world… In fact, it means the Moon!”
The performance is expected to celebrate some of her biggest records from the album, including Scrambled Eggs, Do My Dance, and Falling — songs that have helped cement her as one of South Africa’s most distinctive and fearless musical exports.

Known for carving her own lane in the music industry, Moonchild Sanelly first developed her self-described “future-ghetto-funk” sound during her early years between Durban and Johannesburg. Her bold style, unapologetic storytelling, and experimental sonic direction quickly set her apart within the South African music landscape.
Tracks such as I Walk Ye Phara, Midnight Starring, and Makhe, alongside her award-winning debut album Rabulapha!, propelled her into mainstream recognition while still maintaining an alternative edge.

Moonchild Sanelly’s fearless artistry has also earned her invitations to some of the world’s biggest music festivals.
