Made up of Essential SA and 2KayMusiq, the duo is steadily building a reputation for creating music that reflects their roots while embracing the evolving sounds of contemporary Amapiano. Their upcoming seven-track project, Meanwhile in Daveyton, serves as a tribute to the community that raised them while showcasing their growth as producers, songwriters, and storytellers.

Known offstage as Nhlanhla Lucky Phoku, Essential SA serves as one-half of Dynamic Duo and the driving force behind much of the project’s sonic direction.
His musical journey began through his older brother’s sound system before evolving into music production using FL Studio. Drawing inspiration from South African music legends such as Hugh Masekela, Trompies, DJ Ganyani, and Oskido, Essential SA has developed a distinctive production style rooted in both heritage and innovation.
His growing reputation has also seen him share studio spaces with Amapiano heavyweights Kabza De Small and DJ Maphorisa, experiences that have further sharpened his craft and creative vision.
2KayMusiq Brings Raw Kasi Energy
Completing the partnership is Khaya Sibuyi, better known as 2KayMusiq, whose contributions bring authenticity and township spirit to the duo’s sound.
