Calvin Fallo reconnects with longtime collaborator Lady Zamar on “In The Mood,” a release that brings together Amapiano, electronic dance music and the Broken Beats sound rooted in Mamelodi.
Following the viral success of “Everybody Wanna Be In Love,” the Pretoria producer takes his sound further into electronic territory, pairing soulful songwriting with rhythms built for the dancefloor.
A reunion driven by melody and rhythm
Lady Zamar provides the track’s vocal centre, bringing warmth and melodic depth to Calvin’s production. Her contribution anchors a song that balances emotional expression with an energetic dance sound.
The collaboration draws on the pair’s established musical relationship while giving them room to explore a different direction. Calvin’s production introduces a stronger electronic edge, retaining the emotional qualities associated with his earlier work.
Bringing Mamelodi’s Broken Beats into the mix
At the heart of “In The Mood” is Calvin’s continued exploration of Broken Beats, a sound rooted in Mamelodi’s dance music culture.
By combining that rhythmic identity with Amapiano and EDM, he connects his local influences with a broader electronic palette. The release builds on his interest in soulful piano elements, deep grooves and African dance rhythms, bringing those components into a more expansive production.

Building on ‘Everybody Wanna Be In Love’
“Everybody Wanna Be In Love” introduced Calvin’s music to a wider audience through its viral success. “In The Mood” follows that momentum while offering a further glimpse into his developing musical direction.
Born Katlego Mashilane, the South African songwriter, producer and artist has built a catalogue that spans Amapiano, Afro House and Broken Beats. His collaborators have included Oskido, Mi Casa, Jonas Myrin, Jordy and Yaadman, alongside Lady Zamar.
With “In The Mood,” Calvin places his partnership with Lady Zamar at the centre of a release shaped by melody, movement and his ongoing exploration of Pretoria’s dance music roots.
