Trechyson Molly vx turns chart success into a personal statement with ‘Ke Nna’

by admin

South African DJ and producer Trechyson Molly vx is opening up about the experiences behind his music with Ke Nna, a seven-track EP exploring identity, grief, love and resilience.

The project follows the breakthrough success of “Botshelo Ke Eng”, which brought the North West artist to a wider audience through its reflections on life’s uncertainties. On his latest release, he builds on that emotional foundation, pairing personal storytelling with soulful melodies and Amapiano rhythms.

A personal introduction through music

Meaning “It’s Me” in Setswana, Ke Nna presents a closer look at the person behind the producer. Across its seven tracks, Trechyson considers the loss of loved ones, everyday pressures, private struggles and the complicated nature of love.

The EP brings those themes into a sound shaped by atmospheric production, heartfelt vocals and dancefloor grooves. Heartbreak and uncertainty sit alongside messages of hope, reflecting the different emotions that can exist within the same chapter of someone’s life.

Where “Botshelo Ke Eng” questioned the meaning of life, Ke Nna continues that conversation through the experiences that have shaped Trechyson’s identity.

Building on the breakthrough of ‘Botshelo Ke Eng’

According to the release announcement, “Botshelo Ke Eng” reached No. 1 on Spotify South Africa, the Official RiSA Chart, Billboard South Africa, Shazam South Africa and the South African radio chart monitored by Radio Monitor.

The announcement also reports that the single held the top position on the BMAT chart for 13 consecutive weeks, underlining its sustained reach.

A subsequent reworking, “Botshelo Ke Eng 2.0,” featuring Jinger Stone and MaWhoo, expanded the record’s musical and emotional scope. Both artists now feature among the collaborators on Ke Nna, connecting his breakthrough chapter with his latest body of work.

Lah’Vee joins a familiar creative partnership

The EP features contributions from Jinger Stone, Lah’Vee, Koketso Vocals, MaWhoo and Han-C, bringing several vocal perspectives to its themes.

Its focus track, “Bophelo Bo Jwalo,” featuring Lah’Vee, centres on life’s unpredictable journey. The collaboration continues an established creative relationship, with Lah’Vee having appeared on previous Trechyson releases, including Impilo yo Mjita.

Their reunion provides continuity within a project that places emotional expression at the centre of its songwriting and production.

A name that carries his mother’s memory

For Trechyson, the themes of grief and remembrance have a personal foundation.

Originally from Agisanang in Sannieshof, North West, the producer carries a tribute to his late mother, Molly, in his stage name. Her memory remains part of his artistic identity, giving added significance to the reflections on family and loss that inform his music.

That connection provides context for Ke Nna: a project concerned with how people carry difficult experiences while continuing to search for love, purpose and strength.

More than a decade in the making

Although his 2026 breakthrough has brought wider recognition, Trechyson began experimenting with music production in 2014.

Over the years, he has developed a sound drawing from South African house music and the soulful, melodic possibilities of Amapiano. Releases including “Umuntu Omnyama,” “Mpogo,” “Wish Me Well” and “Ka Di Weekend” form part of the catalogue preceding his latest success.

With Ke Nna, that journey becomes the subject as much as the foundation of the music. The EP gives listeners a fuller introduction to an artist whose songs connect dancefloor energy with questions about everyday life.
