Born and raised between Kennington and Vauxhall, Skyla grew up in a home where music wasn’t entertainment — it was a daily ritual. From Funky House and UKG to Reggae and old-school R&B, she absorbed genres that would later shape her DJ instincts.
One of seven siblings, she found creative inspiration at home too — particularly from her sister Jada, a powerhouse music manager known for working with Akon and Wizkid.
TRAINED FOR THE STAGE: THE BRIT SCHOOL & SYLVIA YOUNG
Skyla cycled through multiple instruments — trumpet, violin, flute, guitar — before realizing she was chasing performance more than technique. She honed her craft at both the BRIT School and the Sylvia Young Theatre School, sharpening the stage presence that would later define her electrifying DJ persona.
Her turning point arrived at 21, during a formative trip to Ghana, where she stepped into Wizkid’s recording studio and encountered Amapiano in its purest form. That moment became the spark that lit her artistic evolution.
