A New Chapter for the Umlazi Duo
South African DJ and producer duo Campmasters have released Camp Yakithi II, a 25-track double album that explores Gqom, 3-Step, Afro-tech and Amapiano while staying connected to their Durban roots.
Released with gamma. on Friday, 30 October 2026, the project brings together a broad cast of collaborators, including DJ Maphorisa, DJ Tira, Xduppy, Young Stunna and Nkosazana Daughter.
For Mzwandile Khuluse and Khumbulani “Wonder Boy” Langa, the album is an opportunity to show how far their production can reach beyond the sound that first established their name.
Two Discs, Different Musical Directions
Camp Yakithi II divides its 25 tracks across two discs with distinct production approaches. The first features 10 tracks exploring 3-Step and Afro-tech, while the second delivers 15 Gqom records.
The structure gives Campmasters room to explore different rhythms and collaborations while maintaining a strong presence for the genre at the centre of their identity.
DJ Veek, Blaq Seed, Zeh McGeba and Miikey Ndlovu also feature on the project, contributing to an album conceived to connect with listeners across South Africa’s dance music scenes.

‘Ukube Bengizenzela’ Carries a Message of Hope
The album’s focus track, “Ukube Bengizenzela”, features Young Stunna, DJ Veek, Miikey Ndlovu and Blaq Seed.
Carrying a message of hope and encouragement, the song brings together collaborators from different corners of South African music. It reflects the wider ambition behind Camp Yakithi II: to create space for different voices and styles within the Campmasters sound.
Versatility at the Heart of the Project
Speaking about the album, Khuluse describes it as a statement of the duo’s musical range.
“To us this project is about us showcasing our unique versatility throughout the different South African sounds,” he says.
Rather than limiting themselves to familiar production territory, Campmasters approached the double album as a chance to explore their growth and make music for a broader audience.
“We made this project for everyone and it doesn’t have any limitations when it comes to music,” Khuluse adds.
He explains that the collaborations were chosen across genres, allowing the project to move beyond expectations of the duo’s Durban sound while remaining connected to the music their listeners love.
Building on ‘Vathela’ and ‘Awungazi’
The release follows the viral attention earned by “Vathela” and the success of “Awungazi”, featuring DJ Tira, General C’Mamane and Pcee, which was named Gagasi FM’s Song of the Year.
Those records form part of a career that began in Umlazi in 2010. Since then, Campmasters have established themselves within Gqom and the broader South African dance music scene, collaborating with artists including Distruction Boyz, Babes Wodumo, Tipcee, Mampintsha, Dladla Mshungisi, Eemoh and Big Nuz.
With Camp Yakithi II, the duo build on that foundation through a double album that gives their Gqom roots and expanding musical interests room to develop side by side.
