Tshimolo Comfort Masemola was born in Mamelodi in 1997, a mother to a six-month-old baby named Simba later moved to her grandmother’s house in Limpopo after the passing of her mother in 1999.

During her secondary school years, she developed the love of singing and dancing which gave birth to the name “Xigubu” as she was known in her community as the lover of sound.

Xigubu easily translates to a drum or sound box in Xitsonga, which is now Tshenolo’s stage name.

Her career in music began when she met with DJ Ladytone, a DJ from a location close to her village who later introduced her to quite a few individuals such as; Chamza the DJ and Romeo the chairman who were just as passionate in music as she was.

In the year 2015, Xigubu recorded her first single called “Mavuso”. Shortly after that she started performing at gigs in and around her hometown.

She recorded another single in 2017 with Kalawa Jazmee’s former artists DJ Buckz and Spirit called “Skobo” later that year she moved to Seshego which is a township in Polokwane, where she closely worked with DJ Elpayo and other producers, DJ’s and artists.

In 2018 she did a remix of her first record with Chomee from 999 studios, it was produced by the legendary Arthur Mafokate which later landed her a record label deal with Fathaland Records where she recorded and released her first Album titled “Drizzle”.

She broadcasted her talent by shooting a music video for her album single “Get Down Low” which skyrocketed to the top of the music charts and saw the track played and rotated in almost every music channel and radio stations across South Africa.

In 2019 her contract ended, and she soon signed a three-year deal with her current label Mabetha Productions.

Under the excellent watch of Mabetha productions Xigubu has released two singles with one smash hit “Di chomi” on the way. She is currently working on her album which will be a melting pot of different sounds.
