BokkieUlt officially releases ‘Monalisa’ as a radio single and along with this release comes a music video to the song. The double drop takes place on Friday September 29th.
The song features Money Ostrich doing the honours on the vocals. ‘Monalisa’ is a single speaking to challenges that come with trusting love and falling in-love again after being wrecked by it.
BokkieUlt says it is a song for ordinary individuals who have had love and lost it due to unforeseen dilemmas; in his words, speaking of the making of the song, BokkieUlt had this to say;
“The making of the song was so peaceful, it felt more like a venting session than an actual studio session, a lot of raw and unfiltered emotions were uttered into the mic for people to hear and relate to.”
BokkieUlt is not a new face to the industry, he released a 5-track EP in March 2023, ’10 000 Hours’. The EP has thus far received love not only in South Africa but is also well-received in countries like the United States of America, United Kingdom and Taiwan.
Taking it further back, BokkieUlt won the Red Bull campus clash in 2013, which was his big breakthrough in the industry and has been working to build his musical career since.
When asked about working with Money Ostrich and why he chose to work with him, BokkieUlt said;
“I chose to work with MO because of his talent and his personality. This collab happened genuine like I remember I played him different beats to choose before we started working, but when I played the monalisa tune he just fell in love with the instrumental because of its energy and the way he was feeling at the time, that’s how Monalisa came out.”
