Soa Family just released their third lead single, Ubuye, on the 2nd of November 2023. The song will appear on their debut album ‘Isibusiso’.
The Award-winning musician, Soa Mattrix has joined forces with Frank Mabeat, B33kay SA and Cnethemba Gonelo to create the song Ubuye.
The ‘Mina Nawe’ hitmaker recently received multi-platinum awards which further proves that he is one of the most premier producers in the country.
At the plaque handover ceremony, Soa announced that he has been working with several talented young South African producers and vocalists who are known as Soa Family.

As we approach the release of their album, ‘Isibusiso’, Soa Family has been releasing heartfelt songs into the music scene. The body of work that is slowly coming out is textually varied and sonically diverse.
The song title Ubuye means to come back. This single is about a loved one that does not return. This can be interpreted as a song about grief or heartbreak.
Vocalists B33kay SA and Cnethemba Gonelo is heard throughout the song expressing their burning desire to see the person they are singing for one last time.
UBUYE LYRICS: “Ngikucinga koze kose, (zanke ubuye) Nginokuk’bona ngisho emaphupheni, (zanke ubuye) Ngabala incwadi ngithumela kuwe, (zanke ubuye) mina ang’sazi ngiyenzani kuwe”.
In this verse B33kay SA expresses how he thinks and dreams about this person and they never come back, he further says he went as far as writing a message to them and they still did not come back, he ends of the verse by saying he sadly does not know how he has wronged the person on the other side.
The song showcases musical versatility, production skills, and the innovative sound that Soa Family is coming onto the music scene with.
Soa Family has made it very clear that their music puts emphasis on meaningful lyrics which promote the message of each song.
Ubuye falls under the Amapiano genre and gives off afro-soul melodies, hypnotic beats, and soulful vocals.
