Durban artists close down N3 highway to PROTEST

Eish Durban artists are pleading with government to fully open up the entertainment industry so that events can commence.

Dladla Mshunqisi trended on social media yesterday after a video surfaced whereby he was seen running away from the police. According to the IOL newspaper, 35 people got arrested, vehicles impounded after Durban artists staged the protest on the busy N3 highway in Kwa-Zulu Natal province yesterday.

IOL newspaper further stated that the protest was arranged by a group of Durban artists who wanted to bring attention to the impact the national lockdown had had on their industry.

The group set up a stage on the national highway and hosted a mini concert.

They say the lockdown regulations and the limitation of people at venues was having an impact on their pockets.

Armed with placards, the group demanded to be taken seriously by President Cyril Ramaphosa. #VulaPresident #OperationVula
