House music vocalist Msaki is asking her fans to help build a home for a South African icon – Madosini.
Madosini Latozi Mpahleni is a legendary Xhosa musician, known for playing traditional instruments such as the uhadi and mhrubhe musical bows, and the isitolotolo.
Madosini is regarded as a “national treasure” in her field and Msaki draws inspiration from her music as Msaki is known for creating a sound that combines soulful folk with symphonic movements, Xhosa lyrics and African poly-rhythms with portals of sincere improvisations.
Msaki decided to join the movement to raise funds to help Madosini build a home after it came to her attention that her current living conditions in Langa have become very difficult and her wish is to have a house built on her ancestral soil in the Eastern Cape province.
