International English singer-songwriter Jorja Smith just dropped a brand new Amapiano single titled #AllofThis with a producer called Ronald Banful who is known professionally as GuiltyBeatz and the music industry isn’t pleased with the collaboration.
Many South African Amapiano followers have accused Jorja of being a culture vulture as she is being criticized for not collaborating with Mzansi beatmakers such as Kabza De Small, Heavy K or DJ Maphorisa.
GuiltyBeatz is a Ghanaian DJ and record producer, even though he is technically African, he was born in Palermo, Italy.
No Jorja this is not Piano, Nooo… That’s Heavy K’s (A South African house music producer) And also this this thing of international artists hopping on to piano but not collaborating with SA Amapiano producers will never make sense to me
commented a fan called Thabo Tshabalala on Jorja Smith’s Facebook wall.
Social media platforms such as Twitter have also raised their concerns on the issue,
jorja smith is already on the cover of spotify for amapiano, with her fake amapiano song and a (allegedly) stolen beat from an SAn artist. but yah “wHy dO you GuYs wAnNA gAteKeEp a MuSic gEnRE” 🤣
