Multi hit track producer, songwriter, DJ and vocalist Musa Keys is spreading the good vibes and happiness with the release of his debut album titled TAYO meaning ‘source of joy’ in Yoruba.
With the project, he hopes to be that source of joy that activates the dopamine and heals your heart. The album includes previously released singles “Vula Mlomo” featuring Sir Trill and Nobantu Vilakazi, “Wena” and just recently released “Thando Lami” featuring Sino Msolo and Thando Nkosi; as well as 4 more brand new tracks.
TAYO is full of power, melodic anthems and is a culmination of Musa Keys’ signature style cultivated by raw and nostalgic post internet era endearment. The album begins with “Selema (Po Po)”, a track that shows his ambitions to take over the African continent by featuring emerging Tanzanian act Loui through collaboration – intentionally planning to open new markets in East Africa and West Africa.
He continues to tour the continent and work with emerging acts. Musa Keys sprung on the mainstream Amapiano scene in 2020 after emerging as a “mumble rapper” releasing “Samarian Boy”.
The song broke him to fame with over 6 millions streams across all digital platforms while the leading single “Vula Mlomo” off the new album cemented him a multi platinum hitmaker with a long career ahead of him.
Listening to the album, you can also expect to hear more music from Sir Trill, Nobantu Vilakazi, Moonchild, Sino Msolo and Babalwa M.
Whether looking at sales or streams, the highly anticipated TAYO album is expected to move units upon arrival with ease. Whilst hosting media to an exclusive listening session on Thursday night, Musa Keys stated that the album is also visual, and he will be shooting and directing music videos for every single song on the album.
