Banele popularly known as Benzo is a South African DJ and producer, hailing from Butterworth the province of Eastern Cape.
He started honing his craft back in 2010 when he relocated to East London where he was gigging at local clubs, this is where he established his brand as a DJ.
Benzo is known for his Gqom sets, energetic live set performances, and sharing stages with big names.
In 2020 Benzo relocates once again, this time to the city of gold Johannesburg where Benzo ventures into production, he places himself amongst the Amapiano movement.
He pens a deal with the newly formed record label, home of Deep London, Cycad Waves, and distributes with Ingrooves Africa (Electromode Ingrooves).
This Friday the 28th of October, Benzo releases his debut single ‘Imali’ featuring rising artist and Majikajika hitmaker Lumka Lumkile famously known by her fans as Shlobo, as well as a multi-platinum-selling singer and songwriter Raspy.
Although the song directly translates to money, when asked Benzo described this song as the journey that he has been on; where he comes from, and where he is now.
He has been pushing other fellow artists for over a decade in the music biz as a DJ. The multi-faceted Benzo is a force to be reckoned with.
