The year 2023 is starting off with a bang as Amapiano fans are blessed with the official music video for the much loved song titled ‘Fatela’ by Aymos as well as Ami Faku, the track is produced by Mas Musiq.
South African Amapiano maverick and singer-songwriter, Aymos (real name Amos Shili), has been consistent with making hits over the past couple of years and this collaboration with Ami is a continuation of his brilliance.
Born and raised in Tembisa, the church gave him the foundation to explore his talent in music. Aymos worked his way through the industry from being a backing vocalist to a session pianist.
It was his feature on “Emcimbini”, alongside Kabza de Small, DJ Maphorisa, Samthing Soweto, Mas Musiq and Myztro, that cemented his place amongst the cream of SA’s Amapiano crop, as the track went on to become a chart-topping smash.
His collaborative EP “Shona Malanga” with Mas Musiq, secured him two SAMA nominations in 2021 (Best Amapiano Album and Duo of the Year).
With his debut album, Aymos champions the sound “Afro-Yano” which he describes as “Amapiano with Soul and warmth”. Soulful, lyrically driven and percussive, the album features productions from the King of Amapiano Kabza De Small, and South African DJ heavyweights Major League DJz, Josiah De Disciple, DBN Gogo and more, with vocalists Sekiwe and Boohle, prolific rapper Focalistic and Afro-house music luminary Zakes Bantwini.
