Kamogelo Malapane, commonly known as ‘Dlala Regal’, is a platinum-selling composer and producer from Daveyton, in the east of the Ekurhuleni region in Gauteng, South Africa.
He is an independent artist and the co-owner of Vibe Boys Worldwide with his manager, Senzo Mabena, and brand strategist, Sinethemba Jele.
Vibe Boys is a creative hub and movement based in their hometown that has enjoyed successful event promotion, organization, and management under which opportunity has been given to other local aspiring artists and performers.
Dlala Regal’s musical journey began as an avid listener of deep house and hip-hop. While he still enjoys hip-hop in rare times of leisure, he resonates more with deep house, and there he found his love for house music.
His love for deep house was the inspiration for his journey into becoming a disk jockey and venturing into music production and composition.
Before he began production and being a DJ, he started collecting music and supplying it to local DJs out of love and joy; in return, he would ask to be taught how to use CDJs, of which he has become a master; following that, he made his own music. In 2019, he released his debut EP titled ‘AmaPiano 1520’; 1520 is the postal code of Daveyton, where he comes from.
In 2020, he released his second EP titled ‘Built From Scratch’, and in 2021, his manager decided they should start dropping singles every month, hoping one would catch traction, and indeed ‘Dlala Captain’ did.
‘Dlala Captain’ became the first of many platinum-selling hits, and while enjoying the attention of ‘Dlala Captain’, other songs became internet hits, while ‘Umshini’ became a trending hit on TikTok and other platforms.
Today, the single has a music video that can be enjoyed for viewer pleasure on YouTube.
In 2022, his single ‘Mpolaye’ took over in the Amapiano pop culture as a song that was played in club scenes all over the country. Dlala Regal has had a number of collaborations with other house hold names, such as DJ Stokie, Nokwazi, and the late Mpura Mpura, on songs titled ‘Ukhalelani’ and ‘Sqhebe’, adding Dlala Captain platinum-selling hit accolades.
He later released a joint EP with Amapiano producer Snow Terris, titled ‘Enjoyment’, which set the tone for what Dlala Regal’s music capabilities are.
He’s returned with his first project for 2023, a track titled Umshini 6.0 with contributions from Mluusician and Scotts Maphuma. This song is a follow-up to his hit single Umshini, which was released in 2022.
The song was a firm favorite on the dance floors and enjoyed ample airplay on most prominent radio stations, proving that Umshini 6.0 will follow through on its distinction and promises to be a summer banger.
