Amapiano is the distinctive local sound which gave rise to a new generation of stars. As the uniquely South African genre continues to grow, the ushering of its second generation of superstar producer-DJs has started.
One name in particular is East Rand born producer Samuel “DJ Stixx” Saloane. The up-and-coming star who has worked with the likes of DBN GOGO, is touted as the protege to Amapiano legend Kelvin Momo.
As such, he is venturing into defining his own lane with the release of his album, “Test of Time,” which has been met with wide applause. Since the release of the first single from the album “Hello,” a melodic and musical track. A single, he followed with the sophomore single “Dlala Stixx” a more upbeat and dancefloor-friendly track.

The two tracks showcased his versatility as a producer, which is a valuable asset in the dynamic world of music production. Now, DJ Stixx showcases his musical finesse fully with the release of his 14-track album.
“Test of Time” is a culmination of DJ Stixx’ love of all elements of Amapiano, whether it is jazz, private school and the new wave of Maskandi-Yano, where Maskandi is fused with Amapiano.
No other track personifies this than the lead single from the album “Ndaba Zami,” with Kelvin Momo, featuring Baby S.O.N and Mathandos. The single continues to showcase Stixx’s versatility showcasing another unexpected side to his growing musical finesse in Amapiano.
The album features other notable tracks like the opening track “Tanzania Prayer,” “Maskandi Cry,” “Autumn Leaves,” “Cry of War” and the title track “Test of Time.”
