In honor of Pride Month, Apple Music is celebrating the vibrant and inclusive club scenes that have long served as sanctuaries for the LGBTQ+ community.
As part of its “Pride Around The World” campaign, Apple Music is showcasing the global impact of the queer club scene by spotlighting 10 renowned LGBTQ+ DJs from around the world, including South Africa’s very own DJ LeSoul.
DJ LeSoul’s exclusive DJ mix, curated specially for Apple Music’s Pride celebration, promises a journey through diverse and vibrant musical landscapes. Reflecting on her contribution to the campaign, DJ LeSoul shares,
“The mix was created to show just how much diversity there is in music right now. It’s meant to evoke all the good, vibrant emotions. It’s meant to make you dance; it takes you through a journey.”
Delving into her creative process, DJ LeSoul sheds light on the intention behind her mix, stating,
“I ensured that the person listening gets to hear my story. I ensure clear and clean transitioning, but at the same time, the songs have conversations with each other.”
With a mix designed to be the perfect soundtrack for various moments, DJ LeSoul hopes to uplift spirits and ignite joy.
“I hope this mix helps revive any spirit,”
she expresses.

DJ LeSoul’s mix transcends genres, seamlessly blending elements of EDM, electro-house, and amapiano.
As she aptly puts it,
“It’s not too uptempo—it loosens the fit between EDM and electro-house versus amapiano; you’ll hear those drums every now and again.”
Throughout the month of June, DJ LeSoul’s exclusive DJ mix, alongside those of other talented LGBTQ+ DJs, will be showcased on Apple Music, providing listeners worldwide with a celebration of Pride and the diverse sounds of the global queer community.
