Midnight Uzo, the multitalented singer, songwriter, and trombone player, has unveiled her latest musical venture, a captivating single titled “HAYI.”
Collaborating with Durban-Kwaito legend Professor, the release marks a significant departure from Midnight Uzo’s established Pop-Funk style, venturing boldly into the realm of Afro-House.
The single, which has been eagerly anticipated by her fans, combines intricate additions, emotive lyrics, and a jazzy melody that showcases Midnight Uzo’s versatility and creativity.
In a recent statement, Midnight Uzo expressed her inspiration behind “HAYI,” describing it as a heartfelt love song about the yearning to reunite with someone dear.
“People can interpret it how they wish in their own lives,”
Midnight Uzo shared.
“It can be the longing to see a partner, family, or friend. But it is essentially a song of longing for love.”

Beyond her musical talents, Midnight Uzo is also a passionate advocate for the LGBTQIA+ community and has embraced her role as a sangoma/healer, honoring her spiritual calling alongside her artistic endeavors.
