The South African music scene is abuzz with excitement as DJ, producer, and businessman Mr JazziQ teams up with Amapiano powerhouse Vigro Deep for their highly anticipated joint EP, The Grass Is Greener.
The first single off the EP, titled “Fede,” dropped this week, offering fans a tantalizing taste of what’s to come.
With The Grass Is Greener, Mr JazziQ and Vigro Deep are set to redefine Amapiano, the genre that has been capturing global attention.
Both artists have left indelible marks on the music industry, and this collaboration promises to be a groundbreaking addition to their discographies.
Vigro Deep, known for his innovative approach to Amapiano, shared insights into his creative process.
“I spent a lot of time overseas studying how other DJs present and produce their music. This experience inspired me to return home and create music that resonates with audiences in places where Amapiano hasn’t yet made its mark,”
he explained.
“The one person I kept thinking about during this process was Mr JazziQ, and the rest is history.”
The single “Fede” is a dynamic fusion of Black Is Brown’s signature sound and the vibrant new wave of street beats.
Featuring a higher tempo to cater to international tastes, the track combines pulsating rhythms with catchy vocals. The word “Fede” is a popular exclamation in South African townships, adding a local flavor that bridges cultural gaps.
Mr JazziQ expressed his enthusiasm about the EP, saying,
“Vigro is not just a collaborator but a very good friend. We’ve created incredible music together, and I’m eager for everyone to hear how we’ve evolved since our last project.”
Scheduled for release in August, The Grass Is Greener is expected to heat up the South African summer. If “Fede” is any indication, the EP will be an essential addition to all summer playlists, cementing Mr JazziQ and Vigro Deep’s status as innovators in the Amapiano genre.
