Smith recalls,
“After recording ‘Beke le Beke’ with Scott, I began frequenting the studio, where we developed ‘Vimba’ along with several other tracks.”
The collaborative spirit shines through as Smith details the process:
“The producers crafted the beat, and Scott and I began writing. I developed melodies for the pre-hook and my verse, and then Scott enhanced it with a catchy hook and fantastic verse that complemented the beat.”
The song offers a playful exploration of the sometimes tricky dynamics between artists and venue promoters, poking fun at the absurdities and misunderstandings that often arise during the booking process.
“There’s a great deal that happens behind the scenes when it comes to performing. We encounter challenges with some promoters, but that doesn’t overshadow the strong relationships we’ve built with many others. The song isn’t meant to be a complaint; rather, it playfully highlights the challenges we experience,”
Smith explains.
