South African electronic music powerhouse Shimza has unveiled his latest musical offering, Sunset in Pretoria, a three-track EP released through his independent imprint, Kunye. The project arrives shortly after the launch of his highly anticipated residency at Pacha Ibiza, further cementing his position as one of Afro House’s leading global ambassadors.
The EP, released on 19 June 2026, serves as a deeply personal tribute to South Africa while showcasing the continued evolution and international appeal of Afro House music. Bringing together a carefully selected group of local and international collaborators, Sunset in Pretoria blends rich melodies, immersive atmospheres and rhythmic sophistication into a project designed to resonate both at home and on dancefloors around the world.
A Cinematic Opening Inspired by Pretoria
Leading the project is the title track, Sunset in Pretoria, a collaboration with French and Dubai-based producer Demayä.
The track unfolds gradually, combining warm synth textures, hypnotic percussion and sweeping melodic elements that capture the beauty and tranquility of a Pretoria sunset. What begins as a reflective and restrained composition steadily develops into a powerful groove, setting the emotional and sonic foundation for the EP.
Celebrating South African Talent on uMa Wami
The second track, uMa Wami, sees Shimza joining forces with vocalist Thatohatsi and producer Jnr SA.
