Shimza Announces 11 Internship Programme Candidates

The Hub, an initiative by Shimuzic Foundation and Hollywood Foundation is excited to announce the selection of 11 (eleven) remarkable candidates for the second year of our Internship Programme aimed at supporting unemployed youth in Tembisa. This initiative will provide invaluable work experience over a four-month period, helping young individuals develop skills and gain practical insights into various industries.

Following a competitive interview process, the selected candidates stood out for their passion, dedication, and potential. The Services SETA accredited programme will not only offer them hands-on experience but also mentorship from seasoned professionals, workshops, and opportunities to enhance their employability.

“We are proud to kick off the second year of this impactful programme,”

said Babongile Mkhize, Hollywood Group Transformation Manager.

“Through our collaboration with Shimuzic Foundation, we are committed to fostering the growth and development of young people in Tembisa. We believe this internship will provide them with the tools they need to succeed in today’s job market.”

Our 11 (eleven) selected interns for this year’s community internship programme are as follows:

  • Kamogelo Fophe
  • Karabo Malete
  • Thato Malebati
  • Kamogelo Mojela
  • Masego Mokoena
  • Tshegofasto Lebogang
  • Dimpho Makuane

The four-month internship will include a combination of on-the-job training, skill-building workshops, and community engagement projects. Interns will also receive guidance on resume writing and interview techniques to better prepare them for future employment opportunities.

Last year’s programme participants reported increased confidence and skill development, with several interns successfully transitioning to full-time roles after completion as well as beginning their careers as entrepreneurs. This year, we look forward to building on that success and creating even more pathways to employment for our youth.
