Makubenjalo Restaurant & Pub, a beloved nightlife and dining venue in Soweto, has announced a temporary closure for a highly anticipated revamp. The venue, located at 24097/35 Dippenaar St, Diepkloof Zone 2, Diepkloof, will be closed for renovations from February to March 2025.

In an official statement by JAMS ON ICE, the Makubenjalo team assured patrons, suppliers, artists, hosts, influencers, and brand partners that the closure is part of a strategic plan to enhance the venue’s experience.

Makubenjalo is widely recognized as one of South Africa’s top Monday night destinations, with its famous Mogodu Monday events drawing massive crowds weekly. These gatherings celebrate local cuisine, particularly mogodu (tripe), paired with great music and a lively social scene.

The venue operates on Mondays, Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays from 12:00 PM to 2:00 AM, making it a go-to spot for nightlife lovers.
