A groundbreaking collaboration between British electronic music legend Charles Webster and South African deep house maestro China Charmeleon has just been released. Titled “Many Blessings,” the track features powerful vocals from rising South African singer Girly Mbambani, offering a richly layered listening experience that bridges continents and musical cultures.

Charles Webster, a pioneer of deep house known for his work under aliases like Presence and Furry Phreaks, has built a career on innovation and authenticity. With over 150,000 albums sold worldwide and a fan base that spans Europe, the US, and Africa, Webster is no stranger to collaboration. His past work includes legends like Juan Atkins and Derrick May, as well as contemporary South African producers such as Muzi and Atmos Blaq.
China Charmeleon, born Siphamandla Innocent Nene, is one of South Africa’s most influential new-generation producers. A native of Carolina, Mpumalanga, he gained prominence after moving to Johannesburg and signing with Stay True Sounds, a leading independent dance music label founded by DJ Kid Fonque. Known for his soulful, jazz-inflected sound and refusal to conform to genre limitations, Charmeleon has become a staple in local and international deep house circuits.
His discography includes standout albums like Colours (2020), My Father’s Records, and Ubuntu (2024), as well as collaborations with deep house peer AndileAndy. His transformative live performances have earned him a place on major festival stages from Defected Croatia to Ibiza.
