A Long-Awaited Solo Debut

Rising Afro-house DJ and producer Kenza is stepping into the spotlight with his highly anticipated debut album, Music in Colors, set for release on 7 November 2025. The project captures the essence of South Africa’s diverse dance music landscape, painted through soulful melodies, emotive vocals, and layered rhythmic textures.

From Protégé to Pioneer

Born Keanen Leroy Bekeer, Kenza has spent years crafting the modern sound of South African house music. As a protégé of Sun-El Musician and a key member of the El-World / Under the Sun collective, he has contributed to some of the genre’s most celebrated songs, collaborating with the likes of Ami Faku, Msaki, Sun-El Musician, Mthunzi, Caiiro, and Mpho.Wav.

Now, with Music in Colors, Kenza steps forward as a fully realized artist—one whose sound bridges intimacy and innovation, rhythm and reflection.

A Journey Through Sound and Emotion

Following early solo releases such as “Sihlobo Sami” featuring Ami Faku and his 2021 EP Fly Away, this debut album represents a defining moment in Kenza’s career. Music in Colors blends Afro-house and 3-step influences into a seamless and soulful narrative—each track designed to evoke emotion and connection.

The project boasts an impressive lineup of collaborators, including Msaki, Ami Faku, Simmy, and Mthunzi, as well as producers Heavy-K, Sun-El Musician, Mpho.Wav, and others. Together, they help bring Kenza’s vision of unity, diversity, and sonic beauty to life.

Spotlight Track: “Uyibonani” featuring NatashaMD

The album’s focal point, “Uyibonani” featuring NatashaMD, captures the emotional core of Music in Colors. The song’s deep house rhythms and Afro-fusion melodies create a lush backdrop for NatashaMD’s evocative vocals, exploring themes of connection, perception, and shared emotion.

Building Momentum with “Ungaele”

Kenza’s most recent single, “Ungaele” featuring Essa Kay, released on 17 October, has already gained traction—earning a coveted spot on Apple Music’s Big 5. The track serves as a perfect precursor to the full album, signaling a refined and confident evolution in Kenza’s artistry.

A New Chapter for South African Dance Music

With Music in Colors, Kenza redefines the boundaries of Afro-house—blending the organic with the electronic, the personal with the universal. The album stands as both a love letter to South African sound and a bold artistic statement that cements Kenza’s place among the country’s most exciting new generation of producers.
