Metro FM Music Awards 2026 is set to mark a major milestone in South Africa’s music industry, as Metro FM officially announces its dynamic host lineup ahead of the ceremony on 25 April 2026 at the Durban International Convention Centre.
Leading the main stage are media personality Lerato Kganyago and acclaimed actor Lawrence Maleka, a pairing expected to deliver a blend of charisma, energy, and style.
Green Room, Black Carpet and Voice-Over Talent Announced
Adding to the excitement, METRO FM’s newest voices Nomuzi Mabena and Siyabonga Ngwekazi will host the Green Room, offering behind-the-scenes access to winners and nominees.
The glamorous Black Carpet, powered by Africa Fashion International, will be hosted by DJ and presenter Lamiez Holworthy, while Zola Mhlongo takes on the role of Voice of God (V.O.G) for the ceremony.
Zakes Bantwini Takes the Helm as Music Director
Grammy Award-winning producer Zakes Bantwini has been named Music Director for this year’s awards. His involvement is expected to elevate the show’s musical direction, aligning with the event’s theme of celebrating excellence in South African music against the vibrant cultural backdrop of Durban.
Music Festival Set for Moses Mabhida Stadium
Beyond the awards ceremony, fans can look forward to the electrifying music festival hosted at the Moses Mabhida Stadium. The festival will be led by entertainment heavyweight Somizi Mhlongo alongside actress Hope Mbhele.
