South African producers and artists Sphectacula & DJ Naves are gearing up to release “Gu Gu Gu,” a new single featuring Mgilane, Sazified, Thobeka and Niseni, on 9 October 2026.
Built around a chant and high-energy Gqom production, the collaboration brings together infectious rhythms, vocal performances and a playful approach to making music.
A Chant Made for the Dance Floor
At the heart of “Gu Gu Gu” is a simple idea: having fun with a beat. Sphectacula says that spirit guided the track’s creation.
“Gu Gu Gu is really just us having fun with a chant over a dope, high-energy Gqom beat,” he explains.
The single pairs its chant-driven hook with energetic production from Sphectacula & DJ Naves, placing rhythm and groove at the centre of the offering.
Four Collaborators Add Their Voices
Joining the duo are Mgilane, Sazified, Thobeka and Niseni, whose contributions bring a mix of voices and creative energy to the track.
The collaboration puts emerging talent alongside the established production duo, highlighting the role of creative partnerships in South Africa’s dance music scene. Together, the artists deliver a single designed to connect with audiences on dance floors, radio and playlists.
Arriving on 9 October
“Gu Gu Gu” will be available on all major streaming platforms from Friday, 9 October 2026.
