South African label DanceAfrika has officially announced the release of Beyond Toshi (DA020), the most personal and ambitious album yet from acclaimed artist Toshi. The 12-track project arrived on all major streaming platforms on Friday, 3 April 2025.
A Deeply Personal Sonic Journey
Beyond Toshi is described as a rich and emotive exploration of love, identity, resilience, and spiritual growth. The album seamlessly blends Afro-Soul, Afro-House, Neo-Gospel, and African Electronica, showcasing Toshi’s signature depth and versatility while pushing the boundaries of contemporary African sound.
Speaking on the project, Toshi shared:

Star-Studded Collaborations Elevate the Project
The album features a carefully curated lineup of collaborators, selected for artistic synergy rather than commercial appeal. The project includes contributions from Bokkieult, Cuebur, Shona SA, Catzico, Frost, Black Motion, Alie Keys, LATTY, Way Kay, Big Sbuda and Cazzyy, among others—each adding a unique layer to the album’s narrative.
Lead Singles Set the Tone
The album rollout is already underway, with the lead single Omale featuring Bokkieult now available alongside its official music video. A second single, Sikelela featuring Shona SA, has also been released and is currently streaming on YouTube.

A revered voice in South African music, Toshi’s journey began in church choirs and community stages, shaping the soulful and spiritual foundation of her artistry.
